Scappoose School District Construction Projects

Scappoose School District is excited to announce the start of many new construction projects around the district! This summer, fire safety upgrades are being made at Sauvie Island, Scappoose Middle School, and Scappoose High School.  Grant Watts and Warren projects were completed on time and $100,000 under budget.  The roof replacement going on at the High School will mean immediate energy and cost savings.  All work with noxious fumes is completed.   Otto Petersen Elementary project is on schedule and the site work is 80% complete and foundations are 50% complete.

Read the information and follow the links on this page to learn more about these developments and what they will mean for our staff, students, and community. Superintendent Paul Peterson is available at (503) 543-6374 to answer questions about the projects.

Local Business Spotlight

Many local businesses are contributing to the success of our schools by providing valuable services during various phases of construction.  We will highlight their contributions here, for all the construction projects.  Some of the local businesses involved include:  TFT Construction, Knife River, Hudson Garbage, Custom Metal Fab, Varsity Grill and Bar, Automobilia, as well as others.

Custom Metal Fab (CMF) is laser cutting the "Learning Tree" metal work design on the entrance door to Warren School.  Also, for the new student dropoff entry hallway, CMF is cutting a metal design of a boy and girl hand and hand skipping down the lane.  This metal work will be placed in the window openings in the brick work.  CMF's bread and butter is making custom kitchen equipment, both residential and commercial, but they can do anything out of metal as we see from their work for Warren School.  CMF employs 18-20 locally.  You can learn more about CMF from their website at www.cmfstainless.com.  Their owner and president is Mike Taylor.  Thanks, Mike, for your work on Warren School.
